Sailor Mars

Somebody please ask me what my favorite anime is. – moi

It has been nine months of creating art every day, which means I’m 3/4 the way from completing my new year’s resolution.

Some days have been more difficult than others. Honestly, my creativity would often be sucked away my other favorite activity playing my favorite game Final Fantasy XIV.

With my interest waning from my favorite game the past few days, I’ve been re-inspired. I decided to create fan art of my favorite character from my favorite anime, Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon. To capture the anime look I decided to give my drawing an outline and shading. I used a photo source to get my color palette and pose inspiration.

The entire time I was creating the piece I was watching Sailor Moon: Crystal. <3<3

Check out the sketch, progression and an alternative version.

Mandy and the “Wrap Machine”

Why did I decide to open a bottle of wine on a Thursday? – moi

Today was a long day at work. Two hour long interviews time and three tours. Although a funny inside joke was born out this experience!

Boom Box ≠  Rap Machine ≠  Wrap Machine?

Mandy one of my favorite people this is for you! ❤ I told you I would draw this out!

On a side note I’m really proud of this piece because I’m tipsy as hell and I don’t know why I seriously opened a bottle of wine on a Thursday. I also learned why people like wine it doesn’t taste like disgusting beer (sorry not sorry Jason) and it gives warm fuzzy feelings..

Really I should’ve saved this for tomorrow.!

P.S. Lauren if you are reading this lets make this rap video with the wrap machine in the background it will be 4th dimensional.

Thanks for reading! GOODNIGHT!

Ursa Chibi

Teru Teru Kumo makes all the things I love! – moi

This little guy was inspired by artwork created by Teru Teru Kumo. Their work is so adorable and I wanted to attempt their style. I was truly inspire by their set of Chibi Care Bears.

I’ve always wanted to remake Ursa Pete. I just didn’t feel it was as cute as my drawing. This little guy isn’t like my drawing, but more inspired by Teru Teru Kumo’s Chibi Care Bears.

I believe their pieces are more charms and I’m not sure if they stand up. This piece I created I wanted to make sure stood up and was hard to balance with his ginormous head!

The light purple clay I was working with was really soft and frustrating to shape. There is a lot more movement in the clay that I typically don’t like there, but was hard to get the solid form with the soft clay.

I would do a few things differently next time. First I need to stop using such soft annoying clay! The star also needs more glitter. I may make another version of this guy tomorrow. We’ll see!

P.S. this guy is way cuter in person than how he is photographed.
